Wusthof Culinar 7-Inch Hollow Edge Santoku Knife Review
This 7-inch santoku is a Japanese cook's (or chef's) knife--a low-tip style with a broad blade. Because the cutting edge is less curved, it provides less rocking action than a European-style cook's knife. However, for straight-down slicing and precise chopping it's superb. Alternating hollows on each side of the blade create air pockets, allowing slices to fall away cleanly. This knife should be hand washed. --Fred Brack The Santoku knife is a Japanese chef%27s all%2Dpurpose knife%2C the equivalent of a European chef%27s knife%2E %22San%22 means three and %22toku%22 means good things%2E It cuts everything%3A onions%2C vegetables%2C cabbage%2C fruit%2C herbs and meat%2E And because of the blade%27s shape %28which facilitates %22rocking%22%29%2C it%27s also ideal for mincing and dicing%2E About Wusthof and Culinar%3F%3F%3FIntroduced in 1999%2C the Culinar series features an elegant satin finish throughout%2E The blade%2C bolster and tang seamlessly blend into the 18%2F10 stainless steel handle%2E Precision forged in Solingen%2C Germany since 1814%2C Wusthof knives are designed for maximum strength%2C safety%2C balance and heft%2E Precision forging and single piece construction mean no stamping%2C welding or shortcuts %2D only solid quality you can feel%2E %0D%0A

Zwilling J.A. Henckels Twin Pro S 7-Inch Santoku Knife with Hollow Edge Review
Part of the Pro S series of cutlery, this knife has a fully forged high-carbon stainless-steel blade. The blade, bolster, and tang are welded of one piece of metal using Henckels’s Sinter Metal Component Technology, which distributes the right quantities of metal to each part of the knife. The result is a longer-lasting edge and a more consistent angle on the blade. The blade has also undergone Henckels’s Friodur ice-hardening process, which further strengthens it and protects it from discoloration. The traditional-style black synthetic handle is secured to the tang with three stainless-steel rivets. This santoku is covered by a lifetime warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde
